Retracing the path taken by Gasport in these first 50 years is like making a journey in the evolution of the sport shoe and safety.

The company has been producing footwear for many years, always keeping a high attention on quality standards, working on the research for new technologies to be constantly at the forefront and in step with time.

It all began in 1972 from a small workshop at home with a couple of machines purchased on credit by Diego Garbuio together with his wife Gabriella Favotto, in order to produce snowshoes for third parties in Volpago del Montello, in the province of Treviso. Thanks to the quality of the craftsmanship, the commitment and the enterprise, the business grows step by step and in the 80s specializes in the production of lightweight trekking shoes, acquiring orders from important international brands. In the 90s, the entry into the company of his sons Mauro and Cristian brought new ideas and a renewed impulse. Production expanded to include snowboard and work shoes, always on a third-party basis until 2010, when the Garsport brand was launched, beginning a strong expansion in Italy and abroad.

Thanks to the experience gained over the years and the know-how, Garsport started the production of the first own-brand collections, which were later expanded to include the wide range of products that characterize the brand today. The trekking line, introduced in 2010, consists of trekking shoes and boots for mountaineering and via ferrata. Vibram soles, waterproof membranes and many other technical elements are carefully designed to create lightweight and waterproof boots, resistant and durable over time, able to accompany hikers on trails of varying difficulty, always with maximum comfort and performance.

Also in 2010 Garsport introduced its own brand safety footwear. The safety shoes developed by the company are designed and manufactured using the best technologies to make them safe, comfortable and durable. Michelin and Vibram soles, innovative technical materials, the BOA® Fit System, which facilitates the opening and closing of the shoe quickly, allow the creation of lightweight safety boots that protect the foot even in the most dangerous environments.

In the same years Blu Flamingo was also born, the line of products dedicated to the food and medical sector. Injury-resistant shoes help chefs, cooks, catering workers, doctors, nurses and health workers not to strain their feet and legs during long working days. Footwear for these professions requires a specific design and technology that is very different from safety footwear made for heavy industry. The structure of the Garsport shoes guarantees optimal comfort and protects the wearer, thanks to the water-repellent materials used for the upper and the protective toe made of composite or steel. The sole, antistatic and resistant to oils and acids, ensures an exceptional resistance to slipping.

In 2018, Garsport relaunched the historic San Marco brand, leader of the 80s and 90s in the outdoor world, by acquiring the licence from the HEAD GmbH group. San Marco’s unmistakable style comes back to life and is harmoniously linked to international trends. Design, aesthetic research and technological content characterize the collection of shoes, designed for trekking and for a new and increasingly popular market segment: the outdoor city.

In 2022, exactly in the year of its 50th anniversary, Garsport took another big step forward to pave the way for a satisfying future for younger generations. Also in Volpago del Montello was opened the brand new company headquarters. The impressive structure houses all the administrative and commercial offices, the modelling and R&D department, the finished product logistics and the outlet.

Today Garsport is a group that can boast a total production of about 1.100.000 pairs of footwear per year, with a turnover of about 42 million euros. It continues to devote a significant part of its production to orders in partnership with major international brands such as Garmont, La Sportiva, Keen, Millet, Le Chameau, Kenetrek for trekking shoes and Diadora, Lotto, Willax, Solid Gear and Sparco for safety sector. Garsport is increasingly supporting third-party machining creation of its own collections by highlighting the uniqueness and quality of its brands, which are increasingly appreciated internationally.
